but i know it isn’t so,
because you see, i hadn’t
really decided where to go.
and where I started from
I let go of long ago.
You thought I was a crying
but i kno its not the case,
i just laughed so hard as to
have tears come down my face,
I laughed and laughed my head off,
and my stomach hurt for days.
You thought I was cold
but it isn’t really true,
I just don’t always know
what I’m supposed to do,
or things im supposed to say,
or how to open up to you.
You thought you saw me wander,
you thought you saw me cry,
but then you weren’t looking
when I turned around to smile,
for I’ve found my silver lining
after walking all this while.
So I’ll take these words right here
and make a paper plane,
let them blow into the air
and not tie them to a chain,
wish it sun, and fair winds,
and a sky without rain.
And in every drop of ink
I’ll leave behind a song,
that will always sing with you
even when you get it wrong,
and help you find your place,
a place where you belong.
Bravo!!I love the way you expressed the flip of moods. And the zest of how you are true to yourself.Keep Writing…
thanks! glad you like it 🙂
Lovely poem-sweetness mingled with sadness and I do love the idea of freeing the shackles with a paper plane .A tear drops here ,a smile there and life goes on with a message of hope. "I'll leave behind a song, that will always sing with youeven when you get it wrong-these are my fav!
